Donning now, my gay apparell...

I don't know about the rest of you , but the Christmas spirit is a bit thin around my world at the moment.
I don't know if my absolute boycott of all retail environments is the cause of the Merry Malaise (as I like to call it). Perhaps not being force fed cheesy christmas carols, chintzy decorations and blatant guilt inducing marketing has affected me in a negative rather than positive way. Whatever the reason, I am feeling at an utter loss as to how December has crept up so quickly and why I am not in my usual state of pre-christmas exitement and hysteria.
As a result I am going home after work to spray paint a dead palm frond and decorate it with gay abandon*. I will dig out the Santa hats from previous years and force anyone within reaching distance to wear one. I can't guarantee anything, but I am pretty sure there will be some carolling. I will keep this up as long as I can between now and the big day where it will all climax in my first hosting duties (of which I will admit I am rooty tooty excited about - our first year of all extensions of the family under one roof )
