Thanks Jesus!

Hurrah! It's Easter, and as the late great Big Kev would say - I'm excited!

Being the heathen that I am , Easter means not much more to me than an extra long weekend and plenty of chocolate. What more could a girl need when exploiting Christian holidays!

The weekend is shaping up to be pretty spectacular. There is the big Housewarming extravaganza tomorrow. Mikey has accumulated enough booze to sink a rather large ship. Tash is off today on the seafood buying trip - down to the newly opened Darwin Fish Markets to snap up kilos and kilos of prawns, oysters and sqid. Paul is all amped up for barbie duty and I have a new summer frock.

I am guessing Saturday will be our day of rest - and a rather large clean-up duty. Sunday is brunch around at Fergal and Tash's place (fellow Jingili dwellers) and we are hoping to follow that with a swim and afternoon beers at Mr Happe's current abode.

In between all of that , there will be a fair amount of laying around, reading the three new books I have yet to get started on, and generally just keeping it real.

What are you mob up to? Let me know in the comments section. Whatever you do, make sure you enjoy it...whether it be overconsumption of alcohol and cocoa flavoured confectionary (like some..) - or celebrating the dude who died for our sins.

See you afterward - with photos.

FROM KENYA:
well.....the weekend was actually a lot of fun. we drove down to the coast on Friday. Friday night was a 'bar warming' party - a friend of Brandon's who has an amazing house on the beach which is finally getting finished invited us to christen the 'entertaining area'.
Saturday was the 'Pisstwits' event which was created and continued by a gentleman named 'Truly' and has a long and colourful history including a pub run in London with teams getting around in the taxi cabs to see who could finish the route the quickest; a black tie event in the middle of Ngorongoro crater; and most recently a 'tuk tuk' race long Diani Beach on the Kenyan coast with three people per tuk tuk (a scooter with carriage) who had to stop at 32 bars along the Diani beach stretch (one drink per team per bar) then return to '40 thieves' beach bar. all in the name of charity of course. this time they raised 700,000/- KES for Diani Beach Children's orphanage which is not a bad effort.
before the sun went down everyone was tanked - but in good spirits. the only all girls team won the prize for most overall drinks. they are all about my size and still managed to be coherent at 9pm that evening - they must get lots of drinking practice living in Diani.
Kikoi Kim ended up climbing naked up the pole to the roof of 40 thieves. he made it to the top, and i now know bits of Kim's anatomy better than i ever thought i would. Brandon's dad George ended up giving the final day's speech in a blue string bikini. all very funny.
